How to sell THCA online

I just finished building out 2 THCA websites (one wholesale, one retail) for my client and wanted to share some free game. A lot of people think you can just spin up a Shopify or Wix store and start selling, but 99% of those platforms don’t let you do everything you’ll actually need. Only a few setups allow the kind of customization required to run THCA online without getting shut down.

Here’s what I found are absolute must-haves:

High-risk payment processor → Stripe/PayPal will kill your account. You need a processor that actually understands hemp/THCA.

Custom forms → Wholesale apps, vendor signups, and basic user registration. If you want to do wholesale or vendor partnerships, you can’t skip this.

Age verification → Age gate popup when someone visits your site + an ID check (AgeChecker, Veriff, etc.) at checkout before purchase.

Compliant product descriptions → No medical claims, just clean and factual: “lab tested,” “<0.3% delta-9 THC,” “derived from hemp,” etc.

Disclaimers → Everywhere. On product pages, in the footer, and at checkout. FDA disclaimers, 21+ only, “consult a doctor,” etc.
